~The Story behind the "County Addicts"~
In 2004, Kathy Green and Heidi Landry, next door neighbors and friends, united their passion for gardening, as well as primitive and country decor. It emerged with little things such as having to collect every new plant we could find, and grew to having to find that uniquely crafted item. Our husbands shared a common interest in the designing of furniture. From that point, Greenland Companies, Inc. was originated. Our husbands were very supportive, and stood behind us when were contemplating to try doing a craft show. Jeff and Dan spent lots of time making furniture to sell and to use for our displays. As for us, we spent lots of time with our sewing machines in our kitchens making hand crafted items. Before we knew it, we did it! We conquered our first show. Since then we continue to do craft shows and have come to realize that our desires have become more of an "Addiction." Since the name fit, we decided to wear it and now we are officially known as Country Addict.
~On a Personal Note~
I'm Kathy, married to my best friend Jeff Green, and the mother of 4. I reside in Westminster, Md. with Jeff, our kids, a lizard, Dollie the Collie, and four cats. (Who are forced to put up with my quirkiness) I am an RN, and when I am not working or chauffeuring, I try to find the time to shop. I love to find that new and unusual piece. Some of my favorite things include, "funky critters", in whatever form they may take. I tend to gravitate towards animals - even a moose from time to time (inside joke). I also love all seasons - from winter to summer - and everything in between. I'm overzealous in all I do, because I am in love with life and with my family. I also love to decorate and re-decorate. You will find me continually changing things throughout our shows. My favorite saying ~ If you're happy, I'm happy!
And I'm Heidi Landry- mother of 3 and married to Dan my high school sweetheart. I've lived in Md for 8 years now and can attest that "Grand Central Station" should be hung above my door. My friends and family swear that when they visit they've entered the twilight zone. My what I call "real job" is accounting and I work from my home. I haven't yet found anything that I don't love and/or collect. My favorites are gardening, quilting, dolls, and everything homemade. I hope to bring some of my favorite things to you.
As a team we bring out the best in each other. Our husbands tell us that we have become "partners in crime." It's a good excuse to why dinner isn't on the table, or where we have been for the last 12 hours. "It was Kathy's fault!" or " It was Heidi's fault!" Jeff and Dan deal well with our crazy endeavors, and Jeff's become quite the Chef! Oh well, to know us is to love us. Our goal is to offer everything but the kitchen sink, and if you need one of those, we'll be sure to find that for you too! "What color?"
